She Tells Us Exactly What We Want To Hear
RE: A Dishonourable Candidate
Why do we follow her?
She tells us exactly what we want to hear…
Little catchphrases easy to learn
Requiring no more than
Conditioned responses from the deceived ones
Not every but each and every
No facts just apparent reality
A plausible fantasy
Data free yet assault on intellect
No discourse just slander
Climate change a global fallacy
Little more than gossip
Humans do not cause the weather
Accountable I am to all the people
But to no hard truth whatsoever
Racism is the way to go
Australia for the Australians
A burning hatred of difference
Anti-Muslimism
The best of all possible worlds is monoculture
More houses but no methodology revealed
Cost of living relief without published groundwork
Condemnation of trade unions
Avoidance of media scrutiny
To set the stage for populist support
So on we go
Not a trace of evidence
Hall of fame deception
All facts and figures are carefully deleted
One People, One Nation, One Leader
Memories
Once upon a dream I did many things
That happen now only in my mind
It is such sweet solace that thoughts have wings
Many treasures still I can find
Though I am old and no longer bold
The aches in my body are many
In spite of this there are tales to be told
With thoughts worth more than a penny
I remember the days when my body surged
Like a tree that bends in the wind
To seek adventure I was strongly urged
As a waif who had not yet sinned
In those dear days the air was pure
And I ran like a horse in the field
When I was bored the sun was the cure
I played games and my boredom was healed
The world was then such a wondrous place
Strange yet divine at the time
As a joyous member of the human race
I went searching for the sublime
So I learnt to teach in a quest to reach
A place in the hearts of others
I taught myself the art of speech
A sharing with sisters and brothers
Humble friends I made down those years
I still talk to though many have died
The lessons we shared still take away tears
As we cast time’s curses aside
So here is a caution that seizes a portion
Of what life has taught me so far
We must all beware of truth distortion
And not lie to be seen as a star
There is so much joy for the human race
As our daily life is unfurled
Just be yourself, in your usual place,
For it is a beautiful world
Found In Hansard
There Mister Speaker
The job is done
Our prophesy was right
We told you so
Good outcomes are logical consequences
If your strategy is sound
To win
You must not hold back
We have found that beyond dispute
You must pound the brains of your voters
With hard core fallacies
Repeated ad infinitum
Until false reality rules
On the throne of simulation
Memorability is another factor
So you paint the air with catch cries
That linger in the minds of your listeners
Like the taste of mildew in cheese
Not just fodder for the ears
The eyes have it too
You talk to the plebs
Before well placed cameras
Get close to them on the media stage
High five them
Run with them before the friendly lens
False pleasure oozing out of you
Demeanour counts too
So you wear a durable grin
Brought forth especially
After awkward questions to which
You have no answer
At such times your best resource
Is attack
And you let your words flow
Like a great river
No pauses
Or opportunities for counter intrusions
Total dominance in interchanges
As your grim face of counterfeit suffering
Adds visual power to your ire
And colour to the illusion
All this is the gunnery of your weaponry
The bullets are the false plans that you publicise
The fantasies of excellence for the present
And the impossibilities you label as
Future certainties
There you have it Mister Speaker
This is the way we do things
In our political clime
It has worked well this time
And will again and again
Many stars walk in this way
On the Hollywood Boulevard
Of political success
The greatest reward can be won there
From this beginning
Emerge the highest honours
So to conclude this my maiden speech
Mister Speaker
I congratulate our new leader
On her brilliant electoral victory
And thank her for
My place in this parliament
Refugee
Little bird
With a broken wing
Forsaken lamb
On the edge of a butcher’s knife
Butterfly
In the hand of a masochist imp
Ladybird
Amidst insecticide
Frail flower
In an agony of desert heat
Mackerel
In the jaws of a hungry shark
Babe
In the arms of a mother begging for alms
Bright mirror
In front of a blind man’s eyes
Blossom
On a limb of a tree that is dead
Teardrop
On a smouldering deathbed face
Faint whisper
In a vestibule of screams
Lion King
In a foolproof iron cage
Straw roof
In a typhoon’s ridicule
Piece of wood
In the anger of a fire
Candle beam
Adrift in the midst of day
Snowdrop
On a heated window pane
Newborn foal
In a field of poisoned grass
How dare you migrate to our land?
Here callous rejection is your destiny
Rejoice-in-iniquity News
Invite ’em then frighten ’em
And so proceed ad infinitum
There’s been a knife murder
In Ryde today
Blood on the road
Crime tape display
A baby is snatched
In a shopping centre
A man in a toilet
Only women should enter
A youth in a car is running wild
Three are dead including a child
A cleaner finds a body wrapped in a curtain
Cause of death remains uncertain
Rape alleged by a football star
Evidence points to the back of a car
Snatch and grab theft in a corner store
A crime repeated several times more
Savaged by a dog an infant dies
While a terrorist is tried for selling lies
An addict is arrested in Centennial Park
Police form a cordon after dark
A distinguished man denies carnal knowledge
A pedophile sacked from a private college
A youth has murdered a family of five
A baby is killed on a parent’s drive
A tourist is missing causing alarm
A boy is shot on an outback farm
Keep telling tales of death and crime
And your profit will be sublime
